| 介紹 | CAB-O-SIL? LM-150D, the dense form of CAB-O-SIL? LM-150 is a low surface area fumed silica which provides moderate increase in viscosity and reinforcement of sealants and rubbers. The bulk density of LM-150D has been mechanically increased for faster incorporation and ease of handling. CAB-O-SIL LM-150D is widely used to provide thixotropy and reinforcement of sealants and reinforcement in silicone rubbers. Use of a densed, higher bulk density, silica such as LM-150D requires very high shear dispersion equipment to achieve adequate dispersion of the silica. The higher bulk density of LM-150D facilitates faster wet-in or incorporation into these viscous polymer systems. Silicone Sealants: The primary application for CAB-O-SIL LM-150D is RTV-1 and RTV-2 silicone sealants. Among the untreated, densed fumed silicas, LM-150D provides the best balance of dispersability, thixotropy, and reinforcement. While fumed silicas with higher surface area than LM-150D will provide greater thixotropy and reinforcement, adequate dispersion may not be achieved with the low shear mixing equipment widely used in the sealant industry. Silicone Rubbers: CAB-O-SIL LM-150D can be used for reinforcement of HTV/HCR. LM-150D provides only moderate increase in hardness, tensile strength, and elongation but it is the easiest to disperse of the densed, untreated fumed silicas. Because of the hydrophilic surface of untreated fumed silicas, modification of the silica surface is necessary to prevent crepe hardening. |
